Fitness, Physical Therapy

I believe that movement is medicine and it is incredibly powerful, not only for our tissues, but also for our brains. Confidence in movement translates to confidence in life and my practice is dedicated to helping you discover what your body is capable of. We will address barriers that are in the way, whether it be pain, an old/new injury or surgery, or a chronic diagnosis. I treat a variety of orthopedic and persistent pain conditions, including hypermobility spectrum disorder and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I take a comprehensive view of the body and consider how different body systems and external variables may be affecting your ability to move the way you desire. Together, we will work to integrate the different pieces of the puzzle in order to optimize your function and quality of life. I work with athletes, weekend warriors, and those who are simply looking for more from their body. My own fitness journey has informed my professional practice, with competitive experience in track & field, CrossFit, and Olympic weightlifting. Currently, my time now is spent climbing, hiking, and weightlifting, all the while exploring the Rocky Mountains and all they have to offer.

My Credentials:

-Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University

-Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics

-Level II Functional Dry Needling Certified (Evidence in Motion)

-Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete Certification (Institute of Clinical Excellence)

-Attended the Global Learning Conference for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (2024)

FAQ

What conditions do you treat?

I treat a variety of orthopedic conditions including back pain, neck pain and headaches, hip and knee pain, and shoulder and elbow pain. I specialize in working with those with hypermobility disorders/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as well as with weightlifters and climbers.

How do you approach clients with HSD/EDS?

As an individual! First, I want to listen to your experience and story. This has to happen in order to visualize a path forward. My mother has EDS and I grew up watching doctors dismiss her symptoms; that will not happen here. We will build a strong foundation of as much education as often as you need as well as a strong base of breath and body awareness upon which we can build strength and stability (very gradually) over time. I will also assess the status of the nervous system and implement strategies to address those needs, and I will address comorbid conditions with appropriate referrals to professionals that are HDS/EDS aware. No two people with HSD and EDS present the exact same way, so no two clients with these disorders will have the exact same treatment and journey.

Do you take my insurance?

No. This practice is cash-based only, and is out of network with insurance providers. Physical therapy is an agreement between me and my clients, and because of this, I will not compromise on the quality of care to be delivered to you by working with insurance providers, who often dictate duration of care and treatment type. Time spent with insurance claims and billing takes away from time spent with you.

If you prefer, I will provide you with a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and I do require notice at your first visit if this is something that you wish to do.

I am unable to work with those who have Medicare or Medicaid as their insurance provider for physical therapy services. These payors require that a person utilize their coverage for covered services. I AM able to see those clients for fitness training sessions, which are not eligible for insurance reinbursement.

HSA/FSA accepted.

How much does a session cost?

$75 for 30 min follow up appointment

$140 for 60 min Initial Consult or follow up appt

$65 for 60 min fitness training session
